Only a movie about nostalgia could make me so nostalgic. Woody Allen, you are legendary and this movies confirms it. Marion Cotillard has yet to appear ugly on screen. Owen Wilson, Kathy Bates, and Rachel McAdams show that summer movies still can pack an acting punch. And as far as Paris goes, this movie makes the city of lights seem even brighter than before.

WORST MOVIE
When in Rome

Please do not ask how I ended up in the theatre for this gem of a flick, but somehow, I managed to sit through the entire movie without shooting myself. I won’t go into much detail, just please promise me that you won’t see this film. PROMISE.
SAG NOMINATIONS- A REACTION/PREDICTIONS
The Screen Actors Guild Awards are always nice to look at, mainly because the list is so short. I’d love to say that there were some surprises or shocker, but frankly, the list was quite formulaic. It was really nice to see Glenn Close nominated for Damages, I’m still a die hard fan of the show and of her. Considering that there only five categories for film, I’ll just go ahead and predict who I think may win…
Best Cast in a Motion Picture- The Fighter
Best Performance from Male Actor in a Lead Role- Colin Firth, The King’s Speech
Best Performance from Female Actress in a Lead Role- Natalie Portman, Black Swan
Best Supporting Actor- Christian Bale, The Fighter
Best Supporting Actress- Amy Adams, The Fighter
I’m only certain about 1 of these 5 categories. I guess we will wait until January 30th to find out how I did!
GUILTY PLEASURE
Grown Ups

How do I choose? There are just so many. However, out of the slue of crappy movies released this year, I’d have to say that “Grown Ups,” is my guiltiest of pleasures. Whether it be the irrelevant farting grandma, Rob Schnieder’s ugly daughter, or Chris Rock’s “Mr. Mom Syndrome,” this summer comedy was surprisingly enjoyable. I’m not telling anyone to go see this movie, because odds are, you will probably hate it. But I stand by my word, “Grown Ups” gave me a good laugh.
BEST SCORE
Inception

I am in no way qualified to judge what I deem as Best Score in a film, but nonetheless, here I find myself typing away. It was in the middle of The Cheesecake Factory’s Bar, during a friend’s birthday celebration, that I began talking to a friend of a friend who went to Berklee College of Music. For those who don’t know ( I didn’t at the time), Berklee is apparently the Harvard of all things music. Anyway, this friend of a friend is pursuing musical scores for films and she had much to say about the “Inception” score, calling it “absolutely amazing.” So, there you have, Best Score.
Sidenote: I have yet to listen to Tron’s score, but I’ve heard it is amazing as well.
FAVORITE SCENE
Meet Charlene - The Fighter
If Amy Adams somehow manages to win Best Supporting Actress, this scene would be why. The scene takes place as Mikey (Mark Wahlberg) brings his foul-mouthed, very opinionated girlfriend Charlene (Amy Adams) home to meet mom. Mikey’s Mom (Mellisa Leo) already does not like Charlene, due to Mickey’s sisters calling her an “MTV girl.” This scene was too much for me, I could barely stop laughing. With the sister’s calling Charlene a skank at random moments and Charlene mouthing off to the mother, I could not help but feel sorry for Mark Wahlbergs character, who was stuck in the middle of the verbal war.
